East Hampton Railroad Station
Railroad Avenue between Newtown Lane and Race Lane

The Garden Club of East Hampton planted oakleaf hydrangea, inkberry, crape
myrtle and Montauk daisies at the Railroad Station as a backdrop for the
Dortmund roses that are pruned several times a year by the members as they
vigorously trail over split-rail fences welcoming visitors to the Village.

Nature Trail
David's Lane

In 1934 and 1936 two members gave "on loan" to the Garden Club 18 acres to be
maintained as a nature preserve.  The Garden Club had simple bridges and
paths built throughout the area.  In 1951 the land was deeded to the Village and
currently there are 28 acres comprising a continuous strip of wetlands from
Fithian to Davids Lane.  In 2001 The Garden Club, with other local organizations,
began a long-range revitalization project, including shoreline stabilization,
extensive removal of dead trees and invasive vines, and replanting native shrubs,
trees and plants.
